ComicFury owner here. ouch.

I’m happy about any kind of critique, and I can assure you we’re working on it. I’m currently working on a new index page actually. New layouts are also in the work.

Thanks for taking your time to look at my host. Let’s hope you give us a second chance eventually :)

We do have RSS feeds, though (sorry, forgot to add that in the first comment)

First of all, thank you for creating Comic Fury and for taking the time to respond to my petty criticisms. I certainly have not even attempted to create a website much less even a page template, you have already done far more for the online community than I have by posting my trite critiques. As for improving Comic Fury, I would prioritize getting the most popular and top-rated content on the front page; all the other sites seem to have this feature. I wouldn’t worry so much about the templates, unless you want this to be a differentiating draw; no other site even had a template, much less two. Thanks for your commentary, and I am definitely keeping Comic Fury on my radar.

That’s a key feature, in my opinion, so I’ll edit the post.

I will check it out. I got the names of the sites I reviewed by skimming the book Webcomics and a cursory googling of the names I found there to see if anything else popped up. If you know of others I should check out, let me know.

My post was really about free sites without an application process, and I have clarified that in my revised version. I commented on your site in a different post. Thanks for introducing me to your service.

The new review has some misinformation. It’s certainly true that I got banned from SJ and that I did mess with DD, but I was working on the comic host long before that, and I’m still in good terms with the SJ owner actually. I’ve helped him several times with SJs security, even after my own host was done. ComicFury is by no means a “mini vendetta”, it’s something which I’ve been meaning to do for years.

Hi there! I’m Sam, the owner of Comic Dish, and I just found this post of yours :)

Thanks for taking the time to take a look at CD, and for the kind words. If you’d like to do a full review at some point, I’d love to see it, as I’m currently working on version 2 and would like to fix up everything that I can :)

There are a few things that I’d like to mention though (for those who’ve already read the feature list before I can fix it).

1) The web stats program I was using (phpMyVisites) just couldn’t handle the number of comics, and didn’t work quite right so it has been taken offline. Stats are scheduled to be back in version 2.
2) The WYSIWYG editor (fckEditor) had a bug that lead to our site being temporarily altered, so that, too, has been taken offline. I haven’t gotten around to reinstating a more secure version of it, but will be doing so prior to version 2.
3) We have the capacity to automatically update your Drunk Duck and Smackjeeves comics when you update your Comic Dish comic, so you can mirror in several places without having to update them all individually. I had planned on adding more mirrorable places, but have yet to get around to it.

Again, thanks for taking a look at Comic Dish :)
